How do I Become a State Registered Nurse Aide (SRNA)

SRNA Requirements

The Kentucky Board of Nursing maintains the Kentucky Nurse Aide Registry.

Information regarding requirements to become a state registered nurse aide are located on the Cabinet for Health and Family Services website

Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) is the sole provider of nurse aide testing. Information regarding nurse aide testing can be located on the KCTCS website

How can I be added to the Kentucky Nurse Aide Registry so that I can begin work as an SRNA in Kentucky?

KCTCS provides the Kentucky Board of Nursing with a copy of the test scores and information about individuals who complete the course and pass the competency exam.

Test results are usually available within 30 days of taking the examination. If less than 30 days have passed since your test date, do not contact KCTCS. If more than 30 days have passed, please call 1-877-528-2748. Test scores will NOT be given out over the phone.

The Kentucky Nurse Aide Registry will no longer be mailing renewal reminders or certification letters.
