KBN Nursing Portal

As of March 20, 2023, the Kentucky Board of Nursing (KBN) has implemented the new Optimal Regulatory Board System, or “ORBS,” a proprietary, cloud-based license management system.

Instructions for creating your Nurse Portal account and your PSOR Declaration.

The new secure nurse portal will allow an applicant, licensee, and credential/certification holder to submit an application of various types. These applications are available on the Kentucky Board of Nursing Nurse Portal Dashboard by clicking Apply for License.

All address and email changes will be completed within the nurse portal under Manage Profile. Name changes, as well as various additional forms and services will be available under Other Applications in the nurse portal.

Please note you must have a valid email address which you are able to access and receive emails. You will enter your complete email address when prompted, and this will become your username for the account along with a password you create. The email account on record for you will be the email address where all correspondence from the Nurse Portal is sent along with any up-to-date board information. Your password changes may be made under manage profile in the nurse portal.

All licenses, credentials and certifications through KBN will now be available for verification through the Board of Nursing License Verification Portal.

Please note: The Kentucky Board of Nursing Nurse Portal works best on Windows desktop PC or laptop in Chrome or Microsoft Edge. Mobile devices are not supported (for example: phones, iPads, tablets).
