How do I become a Board member?
Board members have staggered, four-year terms that allow for continuity of Board functions. Each year the Governor appoints four board members to fill vacancies created on June 30 when Board terms expire. Board members are eligible for reappointment. Depending on which position is set to expire, the following organizations make recommendations to the Governor’s Office:
Kentucky Nurses Association – for appointment of RN members
Kentucky Association of Nurse Practitioners and Nurse Midwives – for appointment of APRN members
Kentucky Association of Nurse Anesthetists – for appointment of CRNA member
Kentucky Association of Licensed Practical Nurses – for appointment of LPN members
Kentucky Organization of Nurse Leaders, an affiliate of the Kentucky Hospital Association
Kentucky League for Nursing
Leading Age Kentucky
Kentucky Association of Health Care Facilities
Citizens can apply to the citizens-at-large positions by completing the application for Boards and Commissions.
