Statutes and regulations do not prohibit a nurse from owning a practice.
RNs may administer medication and treatment as prescribed by a physician, physician assistant, dentist, or advanced practice registered nurses. See
KRS 314.011(6)
An RN may use standing orders or protocols that have beenestablished by a physician or an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)
