An Official Website of the Commonwealth of Kentucky
File a complaint on nurses, dialysis technicians, and licensed certified professional midwives here with the KBN.
KRS 314.093 states, “Persons and agencies that file a complaint, provide sworn or written statements, or otherwise participate in an investigation or administrative proceeding instituted pursuant to this chapter shall have immunity from civil or criminal prosecution that is based upon such information unless the person or agency committed perjury, acted in bad faith, or acted with gross negligence, recklessness, or malicious purpose.”
If your complaint is against someone other than a licensed nurse, please refer the complaint to the appropriate state regulatory agency.
KBN accepts formal complaints from students and the general public where a program of nursing is believed to have violated Kentucky education law. This page gives guidance on different courses of action that may be taken depending on if the complaint falls under KBN’s oversight or that of the program’s.
