KBN does not issue license cards. Newly licensed nurses will receive an email notification that includes their license number and expiration date.

 

NOTICE:  All applicants for RN and LPN licensure by endorsement, examination, and reinstatement of a Kentucky license that has been lapsed for one year or more are required to pass a jurisprudence examination.

How to Verify a Kentucky APRN License to another State Board of Nursing

  • There is not a fee for the APRN verification.  This information is sent via speed memo through the Nursys system, directly to the board of nursing requesting the verification information.  All boards of nursing have access to the Nursys system even if they are not a member.  Contact the APRN Licensure Coordinator with the following information:
    • Name of APRN
    • License # of APRN
    • State in which to send APRN Verification information
