Completion of an “Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility – Patient Assessment Instrument” (IRF-PAI)

It was the advisory opinion of the Board that participation in data collection and inputting of data into the “DHHS, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility – Patient Assessment Instrument” is within the scope of LPN practice.  The LPN practices under the direction of a RN and must possess the requisite educational preparation  and current clinical competence to perform the acts in a safe, competent manner.
