Scope of LPN Practice – Doctor’s On Call Answering Service

It was the advisory opinion of the Board that while the Board does not regulate businesses established by nurses, the Board has determined that it is not within the scope of LPN practice to act as an intermediary of a physician in a manner that requires the nurse to determine a patient’s medical diagnosis and subsequently issue a prescribed treatment plan.
