Authorization To Test (ATT)

The Authorization to Test (ATT) is a document sent to you by Pearson/VUE.  You must take the ATT, and a valid picture identification, to the test center or you will not be permitted to test.

Acceptable valid identification includes:

  • Driver's license with photo and signature.
  • State/province identification (ID) card with photo and signature.
  • Passport with photo and signature.
  • United States military identification with photo and signature.
  • National identity card with photo and signature (in English language letters).

Note:  A valid ID is one that has not expired.

Requirements for an ATT

Before an ATT will be issued by Pearson/VUE, KBN must make you eligible to test.

Requirements for eligibility:

  • Registration with Pearson/VUE.
  • A completed application and fee to KBN (includes a criminal history report).
  • Verification that you completed an approved nursing program.
Avoid Delays in Receiving the ATT

Register with Pearson/VUE before or at the same time you send your application to KBN.

New graduates will be made eligible to test after we have received a completed application, certified list or transcript from the school and after the applicant has applied with Pearson/VUE.

Be sure the spelling of your name and address are correct when registering with Pearson/VUE.

Provide the following information to Pearson/VUE when registering for  NCLEX:

  • Social Security Number
  • Month and Year of Graduation
  • Date of Birth
  • Valid Email Address
