Verification of Continuing Competency

Provide evidence of continuing competency using ONE of the following two methods:

1. Provide evidence of employment as a nurse for at least 500 hours within the past 5 years:
   • Have employer(s) complete the Application Attachment 1
     (Verification of Employment), and
   • Have employer(s) mail or fax the completed form to KBN.
     
     OR
     
     
2. Submit evidence of completing continuing education hours (see below).

If your Kentucky RN license and ARNP registration lapsed within the past 5 years you must contact the ARNP Licensure Specialist for specific information regarding the continuing education hours that must be submitted.

• Continuing education hours may not be earned more than 5 years prior to the date the application is received at KBN.
  
  
• At least 28 continuing education hours must be earned within 2 years of the date your application is received at KBN.
