Temporary Registration (TR)

If you hold current national certification and you want a Temporary Registration (TR) to practice as an RN and ARNP in the commonwealth of Kentucky, KBN must receive the following before a TR will be issued:

• Completed application and fee,
• Completed fingerprint card and fee,
• Copy of current RN license,
• Proof of current national certification, and
• Official transcript of post basic education from school or program of nursing.

If you have applied or will be applying to a national certifying organization, and you want a Temporary Registration (TR) to practice as an RN and ARNP in the commonwealth of Kentucky, KBN must receive the following before a TR will be issued:

• Completed application and fee,
• Completed fingerprint card and fee,
• Copy of current RN license,
• Official transcript of post basic education from school or program of nursing, 
• ARNP Verification of Exam Eligibility, and
• ARNP Verification of Supervision.

Note:  If an ARNP is unsuccessful on the national certification examination, they must cease to practice as an ARNP in Kentucky and notify KBN and the employer of the examination results.  The Temporary Registration becomes null and void when the ARNP has been notiifed of the national certification examination results.
