It is your responsibility to submit proof of earning 2 hours of KBN-approved HIV/AIDS continuing education. The continuing education hours may not be earned more than 2 years prior to the date the application is received at KBN.

Domestic Violence |

For those completing the application and applying for RN and APRN licensure:
Three hours of KBN-approved continuing education in Domestic Violence must be earned within 3 years of receiving your Kentucky RN license.

Pediatric Abusive Head Trauma (Shaken Baby Syndrome) |

The requirement for nurses is a one-time continuing education course of at least 1.5 hours covering the recognition and prevention of pediatric abusive head trauma as defined by the Act. Nurses licensed as of July 15, 2010 have until December 31, 2013 to complete the course. Nurses licensed after that date have three years from the date of licensure to complete the course.
